Arabic Lesson three already

The verb we are working on

ضَرَبَ

In this lesson we will learn to transliterate this word into English.

The fatha will be represented by  "a."

The Daad will be represented by a d
The Raa will be represented by a r
The Baa will be represented by a b.

When you transliterate you always write the letter first followed by the vowel sign on top of it.

So, we first have Daad which is followed by a fatha so we write

da  (the d represents the Daad and the a represents the fatha)

Then we have a Raa followed by a fatha so we add to da

ra  (the r represents the Raad and the a represents the fatha)

and we have

dara

Finally, we have a Baa with a fatha on top of it so we add

ba   (the b represents the Baa and the a represents the fatha)

to dara  and get

daraba

He struck
