Moving to Arabic Lesson Two

In the previous lesson you learned about the following word

ضَرَبَ

This word means He struck.

The word is a verb.

Notice the pattern upon which this word is built. It consists of

  • Three letters
  • Each letter has the vowel sign fatha on top of it

Whenever you see a word in Arabic which is composed of three letters and each of the three letters has fatha on top of it, you can assume that it is a verb

The pronoun He is inherently present in a word formed on this pattern.
